Setup & Support Guide

Everything you need to get started with Blend MCP, connect your ad accounts, and troubleshoot common issues.

What is Blend MCP?

Blend MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that connects your AI assistant to your advertising accounts across Google Ads, Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram), TikTok Ads, and Microsoft Ads. Instead of switching between dashboards, you manage campaigns, analyze performance, and optimize budgets through natural conversation.

It works with any MCP-compatible AI assistant, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and others.

Getting Started

Step 1: Create your Blend account

Go to mcpapp.blend-ai.com and sign up. No credit card is required to get started.

Step 2: Connect your ad accounts

From your Blend dashboard, connect the ad platforms you want to manage:

  • Google Ads — Click “Connect Google Ads” and authorize via Google OAuth
  • Meta Ads — Click “Connect Meta Ads” and authorize via Facebook OAuth
  • TikTok Ads — Click “Connect TikTok Ads” and authorize via TikTok OAuth
  • Microsoft Ads — Click “Connect Microsoft Ads” and authorize via Microsoft OAuth

You'll be redirected to each platform's official login page. Blend uses OAuth, so we never see or store your passwords. You can connect one platform or all four.

Step 3: Add Blend MCP to your AI assistant

Claude Desktop

Add the following to your Claude Desktop MCP configuration file:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blend": {
      "url": "https://mcp.blend-ai.com/sse"
    }
  }
}

Then restart Claude Desktop. You'll be prompted to authenticate with your Blend account.

Claude.ai (Web)

Blend MCP is available as an integration on claude.ai. Navigate to your MCP integrations settings and search for “Blend” to add it.

Cursor

Add the Blend MCP server in Cursor's MCP settings (Settings > MCP Servers) using the URL:

https://mcp.blend-ai.com/sse

Other MCP-compatible tools

Any AI tool that supports the Model Context Protocol can connect to Blend. Use the server URL https://mcp.blend-ai.com/sse and follow your tool's MCP configuration instructions.

Step 4: Start using it

Once connected, just ask your AI assistant about your ads. For example:

  • “How are my Google Ads campaigns performing this week?”
  • “Which Meta creatives are showing fatigue?”
  • “Reallocate budget from underperformers to top performers”

Troubleshooting

“Blend MCP is not responding” or connection errors

  1. Check your internet connection — Blend MCP requires an active connection to communicate with ad platforms.
  2. Restart your AI assistant — Close and reopen Claude Desktop, Cursor, or your MCP client.
  3. Verify your MCP configuration — Ensure the server URL is exactly https://mcp.blend-ai.com/sse with no trailing spaces or typos.
  4. Check Blend status — Visit mcpapp.blend-ai.com and confirm you can log in. If the dashboard is unreachable, there may be a service disruption.

“No ad accounts connected” or missing data

  1. Check your connected accounts — Log into mcpapp.blend-ai.com and verify your ad accounts are listed and showing a “Connected” status.
  2. Reconnect the platform — OAuth tokens can expire. Disconnect and reconnect the affected platform from your Blend dashboard.
  3. Check account permissions — Ensure the Google / Meta / TikTok / Microsoft account you used has admin or advertiser access to the ad accounts you want to manage.

“Rate limit reached” or slow responses

  • Blend MCP respects each ad platform's API rate limits automatically. During heavy usage, you may experience brief delays.
  • If you're consistently hitting limits, consider upgrading your plan for higher throughput allocations.
  • Requests over your monthly API limit are queued, not dropped. You'll receive a notification as you approach your limit.

Authentication issues

  • “Session expired” — Re-authenticate by opening your AI assistant and starting a new conversation with Blend.
  • “OAuth error” when connecting a platform — Try clearing your browser cookies for the ad platform, then reconnect from the Blend dashboard.
  • Wrong ad account showing — If you manage multiple ad accounts under one login, check your Blend dashboard to verify which accounts are linked. You can disconnect and reconnect to select different accounts.

Data doesn't match my platform dashboard

Blend pulls data in real time from each platform's API. Minor discrepancies can occur due to:

  • Attribution windows — Platforms may report conversions differently based on the attribution model.
  • Data processing delays — Some platforms take hours to finalize data (especially conversions).
  • Timezone differences — Ensure your Blend account timezone matches your ad platform settings.

Campaign actions not taking effect

  • Check permissions — Some actions require admin-level access on the ad platform. Verify your access level.
  • Platform review — Certain changes (new ads, budget increases) may trigger platform-level review. Check the ad platform directly to see if a review is pending.
  • Confirm the action — Ask your AI assistant to verify the current state of the campaign after making changes.

Security & Privacy

  • OAuth authentication — Blend connects to ad platforms via official OAuth flows. We never see or store your platform passwords.
  • Encrypted transport — All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3.
  • No data storage — Ad data is processed in real time and not stored on our servers beyond what's needed for the active session.
  • User-controlled permissions — Granular access controls let you decide which campaigns and actions your AI can manage.
  • Token revocation — When you disconnect a platform, OAuth tokens are immediately revoked.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a Marketing Operation?

Any action like viewing campaign performance, updating a bid, or pulling a report counts as one Marketing Operation. Blend MCP automatically optimises calls to minimise usage.

What happens if I exceed my limit?

Requests over the limit are queued, not dropped. You'll be notified as you approach your limit. Upgrade anytime from your dashboard.

Can I use Blend with multiple AI assistants?

Yes. Your Blend account works across any MCP-compatible assistant. Use Claude at your desk and ChatGPT on mobile — same accounts, same data.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time with no long-term contracts. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Is my data shared with the AI assistant?

Blend sends ad performance data to your AI assistant only when you ask a question. The AI processes it in the conversation context. Blend does not store conversation history.
